Basilosaurus (Basilosaurus)

Basilosaurus fossils have been found widely in the nineteenth century in Louisiana and Alab ama, by local residents who have used them, inter alia, as furnit ure. Dr. Richard Harlan, after examination of the remains of an animal, said they belonged to the 45-meter long reptile, giving it the name exists today, which means lizard king . However, Sir Richard Owen, after studying the spine, jaw fragments, limbs, and the newly discovered ribs, rightly pointed out that these are fossils of a mammal.
